Perhaps even more so this year with the twists and turns that 2020 has brought, it feels like we are hurtling towards Christmas more quickly than ever. This means it’s time for us to start thinking ahead to one of our most heart-warming campaigns of the year – our Children’s Christmas Gift Appeal.
This year, we hope to build on the success of last year where we – with the help of all of our supporters, clients, friends and families – enabled over 2,000 vulnerable children to receive a Christmas gift from ‘Father Christmas’. We also delivered over 40 food parcels for some of these most vulnerable families to have their own Christmas Lunch.
We’ve seen first hand the difference a Christmas Gift can make to children who may otherwise not receive any gifts at all at Christmas. In our second year now of running this appeal, we hope to deliver – with your help – even more gifts to as many vulnerable children in the community as possible.
All of the gifts we deliver are wrapped and given discreetly with the help of our school partners and the children’s families. It’s really important to us that the gifts are sent from ‘Father Christmas’ and that allows the magic that goes with it to ensure happy children when unwrapping their gift. For this reason, there are a few practical elements to consider when choosing gifts – age, gender, interests – so we will be primarily asking for your support through our Just Giving page where you can donate money and show your support in time for our wonderful Canine Assisted Learning army of volunteers to shop, wrap and label each gift in time for delivery.
If you would still like to donate a gift instead, please email Vickie at vickie@canineassistedlearning.com for details on how to wrap and label the gift so we can ensure it is matched to a suitable child.

Every penny really does count. We know it’s been a challenging year for everyone so it may seem like a token amount isn’t enough, but it really is. We can all make a difference together, so please donate if you can, your help and support is very much appreciated.
We look forward to sharing our progress with you over the coming months 💙
