There has been a great amount in the news this week from articles stating “all schools should have a dog” to “Do not use dogs in schools” What we need to think about is the correct and safe way to have dogs in schools. Canine Assisted Learning are working with schools providing ongoing in house training to create a safe and effective intervention with the dogs welfare and children’s safety held paramount. CAL’s affiliate programme focuses on canine behaviour and understanding canine body language as well as how to provide safe and effective interventions. As a result the children can benefit from the amazing effects of the human animal bond including improving academic achievements and boosting emotional wellbeing.
